The 'Run the World (Girls)' singer and her husband as well as their daughter Blue Ivy are not standing up while Demi Lovato belts out 'The Star-Spangled Banner' before the game.

AceShowbiz - Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z refused to stand up during the national anthem performance at Super Bowl LIV. The Carters, including their daughter Blue Ivy, chose to sit down while Demi Lovato delivered a flawless rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" before the game kicked off on Sunday, February 2 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

In a video obtained by TMZ, the couple and their eldest child were seen staying in their seats while almost everyone around them stood up. A guy, who appeared to be a bodyguard of the family, was standing though.

Afterward, DJ Khaled came by to greet Bey and Jay-Z, and then dabbed up the security guard.

It was a surprising move for the couple considering Jay-Z's partnership with the NFL. Last year, the Roc Nation founder was tapped as the NFL's new "live music entertainment strategist," who will consult for the NFL on entertainment and co-produce the Super Bowl half-time show, while contributing to the league's Inspire Change initiative.

The 50-year-old rapper received criticism for his efforts with the NFL, with many accusing him of betraying Colin Kaepernick, who has never been hired since 2017 after starting the kneeling movement in 2016.

In an interview ahead of the Super Bowl, Jay-Z defended his partnership with the league, saying, "As long as real people are being hurt and marginalized and losing family members, then yes, I can take a couple rounds of negative press."

He said of Colin's situation, "No one is saying he hasn't been done wrong. He was done wrong." He, however, added that his partnership with the NFL is for a greater cause, claiming, "I would understand if it was three months ago. But it was three years ago and someone needs to say, 'What do we do now -- because people are still dying?' "
