Questioning God for taking the life of the former L.A. Lakers player, the Geto Boys rapper says in an Instagram video, 'How come you didn't take Charles Barkley?'

AceShowbiz - Willie D is among those grieving over the loss of Kobe Bryant, though his tribute post was met with controversy. The Geto Boys rapper came under fire after he said that Charles Barkley, with whom he has been feuding for years, should have died instead of the late basketball star.

Just like anyone else, Willie took to social media to express his sorrow for Kobe's passing. But that soon went south when he questioned why God decided to take the former L.A. Lakers' star instead of Charles. "It's OK to question God," he noted in the Instagram video. "In the wake of the late, great Kobe Bryant dying tragically, suddenly, young, a lot of people are in pain all over the world. Some people are saying it feels like the loss of a family member."

He continued, "I agree. Kobe was a good dude. So much so that some people are questioning God. I got a question for God too. Why Kobe? How come you didn't take Charles Barkley? No more talk."

His post was soon met with backlash. People called him out for being disrespectful for wishing death upon anyone while pointing out that Charles has a family as well. "This guy's out of line here. Have some respect," a user said. "Cmon Willie D bruh wishing death on anybody isn't good behavior and being educated like you are. We all hurt from Kobe but wishing death. Nah," another scolded him.

"U gotta stop downing other black men in this occasion!" someone slammed him, as one other warned the rapper, "You can't wish death on a man and not receive karma! Question god all you want but u playing games willie." A different person weighed in, "Unnecessary post. I can't get with you on this Mr. Dennis... I hope you see that differently soon."

Charles and Willie's beef first began in 2016, when the latter ridiculed the former 76ers star in a song entitled "Coon". On the song, he accused Charles of speaking down on his race, "Listen up Charles Barkley/ You light skin but still calling you a darky/ The only reason that they put the mic in your face/ Is so you can do they dirt and talk down on your race/ TNT made you big put you on a wig/ Now you're acting like you never had trouble with pigs."
