Opening up about the hard time he had to endure following the passing of Felicite, the One Direction member confesses he 'wasn't prepared' for fans to be so supportive.

AceShowbiz - Louis Tomlinson has admitted he initially felt very "bitter" about the amount of talk surrounding his sister Felicite's death.

The former One Direction star's 18-year-old sister died after accidentally overdosing on a combination of cocaine, anti-anxiety drug Xanax and painkillers, in March, 2019, with a coroner later recording a misadventure verdict in respect of her passing.

Speaking to Britain's The Sun newspaper, Louis confessed he "wasn't prepared" for fans to be so supportive during the difficult time.

"Initially, when the news broke last year, I was bitter about the fact that everybody was talking about it," he said. "Loads of people were speculating online about what might have happened."

"I was just told that it was the reality of the situation, which it is, and I had to accept it. So that's the negative side to it, but a positive side to it and something I wasn't prepared to feel was the love from my fans."

He continued: "I wasn't ready to feel like that, but I really needed it at the time. What was difficult was people speculating about details straight away, discussing online what might have happened when nobody really knew, and talking about my family."

The "Kill My Mind" singer has been through a difficult few years, also losing his mum, Johannah Deakin, following her battle with leukaemia in December, 2016.

Louis recently assured fans he's now in a "good place" as he plans to drop his debut solo album, "Walls", on Friday, January 31.
