The 'Other Woman' actress addresses the 'ridiculous' pressure of getting back in shape after giving birth to her first child with husband Justin Verlander.

AceShowbiz - Kate Upton has slammed critics of her post-baby body, insisting she'd rather "turn my energy towards my family."

The model and actress welcomed daughter Genevieve Upton Verlander with husband Justin Verlander back in 2018, and has spoken openly about the pressure she feels to bounce back into shape after giving birth.

Alongside a new snap on social media, showing her breastfeeding her 18-month-old daughter, she wrote, "I tried to push myself early to get back to the gym, eat perfectly and try to achieve this alleged 'snap back.' "

"But, after realising how ridiculous these pressures are I quickly gave myself some slack and lived in the moment as a new mother."

"The Layover" star continued, "I realized quickly that between breastfeeding, healing, little-to-no sleep, off-the-charts hormone changes and experiencing everything for the first time that those weight-loss pressures are extremely unnecessary, and I decided to turn my energy towards my family."

"My energy was drained but my heart was extremely full, and I decided to not let others' opinions and expectations get in the way of my own personal timeline," she concluded. "In my opinion, enjoy the moments with your new baby and growing family, allow your body time to heal and make sure to go at your own pace."

The mum-of-one married the sportsman in November, 2017.
