The 'Dallas Buyers Club' star and the 'Love Actually' actor play matchmaker for their parents following their onscreen collaboration in the 2019 movie 'The Gentlemen'.

AceShowbiz - Matthew McConaughey and Hugh Grant are hoping their parents get on when they head out on their highly-anticipated date next week.

"The Gentlemen" co-stars revealed last year 2019 that they had played matchmakers for Matthew's 88-year-old mother Mary and Hugh's 91-year-old dad James. And in a follow-up interview with Entertainment Tonight, Matthew announced the pair are due to be meeting up in the very near future.

"His father's 91, my mother's 88," Matthew laughed. "Yeah, why not? Next week, they're supposed to meet, and we probably won't see them for the rest of the night."

Hugh added that he's predicting the date will be "red hot."

And if things go well for the elderly pair, Matthew might be able to take up a career in matchmaking. However, he'd have to be very specific about his clientele, joking, "They have to be over 85."
