Naughty by Nature's Anthony 'Treach' Criss denies allegations that he abused his former wife Pepa and instead claims he wanted divorce because she ditched him for another woman.

AceShowbiz - Hip-hop star Pepa has been saying that she left her husband Anthony "Treach" Criss years ago because he abused her, but Treach told a different story in a recent interview on "The Breakfast Club". He claimed she left him for another woman.

Treach who's a member of rap group Naughty by Nature suggested the Salt-N-Pepa star whose real name is Sandra Jacqueline Denton was into men and women. He said they had a girlfriend when they were married and she left him for their girlfriend.

Treach additionally insisted he never abused or cheated on Pepa.

Pepa gave birth to Treach's daughter Egypt in 1998. She married him in 1999 at a Kansas City tattoo parlor after seven years of on-and-off relationship. They got divorce in 2001 as she accused him of physically abusing her.

In her tell-all book, she recalled the moment Treach wanted divorce, "I fell asleep in his arms. The next thing I knew, I opened my eyes and he's standing over me. He screamed, 'B***h! I want a divorce!' He then grabbed my ring off my finger and threw it at me with all his might."

"He grabbed me and yanked me out of the bed. He started slamming me into the headboard. He picked me up by my throat, choking me and he slammed me into the footboard. I felt as if my back had cracked open on the hard metal. He kept yelling, 'F**k you, b***h!' as he kept punching me."

Treach fired back at her on social media back then, saying her book was full of lies. He additionally accused her of sneaking their underage daughter into clubs and sleeping with younger men in the industry.

In a 2017 episode of "Growing Up Hip Hop", Egypt confronted her father after she read the book for the first time. Treach admitted to his daughter that his relationship with Pepa did get physical at times but he insisted he left "before it got far and twisted." He said, "I ain't the savage that they're putting me out to be."
