In 'Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez', Dennis SanSoucie claims that he and the late athlete were in an 'on and off relationship from seventh grade to junior years of high school.'

AceShowbiz - Aaron Hernandez's sexuality has always been something that people are curious about, especially since he killed himself in prison just days after he was outed. However, Dennis SanSoucie has now come out to claim that he and the former NFL player were in an "on and off relationship from seventh grade to junior years of high school."

In the first part of Netflix's documentary "Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez", Dennis said that the two met on the football field, as he was a quarterback while Aaron was the tight end. They started it off as friends, but that soon changed to a romantic one after the two "experimented," because the "girls didn't really hang out with the boys after school." He added, "And it was something that, I'll be honest, that we continued because we probably enjoyed it."

Despite that, the two were in denial that they were in a relationship at the time, given that there weren't many "kids out of the closet" at their high school. "You mean to tell me that the quarterback and the tight end, he's gay? He sleeps with other men? No, it doesn't sit right with people. It doesn't sit right within our own stomach at that time," he explained, describing their relationship as "weird."

Other reason why Dennis and Aaron decided to keep their romance a secret to the world was because both of their fathers were homophobic. According to him, Aaron was especially "terrified of his father finding out." He continued of their romance, "He knew he had to be on a different set of behavior around his father. And I was very similar. So it was something that we just had the ability to turn it on and turn it off. We had to hide what we were."

Elsewhere in the documentary, Aaron's attorney George Leontire recalled some of their jailhouse conversations after he had been outed. "Aaron asked me if I felt or believed that someone was born gay; I said I do believe that," he remembered, adding that the convicted murder also told him that he had been molested by a male babysitter before. George believes that Aaron's "abuse as a child impacted his sexuality; that was one of the things that he held onto as to why he, in his mind, has this 'aberrant' behavior."

In June 2013, Aaron was charged with first-degree murder in addition to five gun-related charges in connection with Odin Lloyd's death. He was also found not guilty of a double murder in a drive-by shooting outside a nightclub. Motives of the murder were never definitely established, though police suspected that it might have something to do with a dangerous paranoia.

On April 19, 2017, Aaron was found hanging by his bedsheets from his window in his prison cell in Lancaster, Massachusetts. He was transported to UMass Memorial Hospital-Leominster, where he was pronounced dead.
