It has been reported that members of the Royal Family are 'hurt' and 'disappointed' because the Sussexes choose to move forward with their plan without consulting the Queen first.

AceShowbiz - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shocked the whole world when they announced their decision to step down from their senior royal duties. Queen Elizabeth II has now responded to the announcement via a statement issued by the Buckingham Palace, and it looks like the monarch is as shocked as the rest of the world.

"Discussion with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage," so the statement read. "We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through."

Following the statement, it has also been reported that the Royal Family is "hurt" and "disappointed" with Harry and Meghan because they chose to move forward with their plan without consulting the Queen first. "None of the other members of the royal family were made aware of the contents of Harry and Meghan's statement before it was released," said a source.

Hours prior, Harry and Meghan announced through their joint Instagram account that they intend "to step back as 'senior' members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to support her Majesty the Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment."

The couple also revealed that they're going to live in both the U.K and North America for the sake of their son, Archie. "This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity," they added.

Concluding the announcement, Harry and Meghan promised to share "the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties." They continued, "Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continuous support."
