The 'Fate of the Furious' actor poses naked with a banana duct taped to a towel which he holds to cover his manhood to spoof the $120,000 banana in the art installation.

AceShowbiz - Vin Diesel may have found a replacement for the $120,000 banana from an art installation at Miami's Art Basel. The actor clearly finds the joke in the baffling situation, as he has come up with a spoof of the prank that cost the pricey fruit.

On Thursday, December 12, the 52-year-old actor posted on his Instagram account a naked picture of himself. Showing off his chiseled abs, he holds a white towel bath to cover his manhood, with a banana duct taped to the towel to spoof the art.

"Haha...," he simply captioned it, and tagged his photographer friend Michael Muller who took the photo. He added the hashtags #ArtBasel and #dadbod in clear reference to the Art Basel prank as well as highlighting his own muscular physique.

Getting the point of his suggestive photo, one fan reacted to the photo, "Wait till i get home, remove towel and forget the banana." Another commented on Vin's "art," "I would so eat this banana and I hate them." Someone else added, "Chaii can you remove it please."

The banana art installation, which had been displayed at Art Basel in Miami earlier this month, was the creation of Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan and was titled "Comedian". It was sold for $120,000, sparking a confusion among people as to why someone would pay that much for just a banana.

As if that wasn't weird enough, a performance artist from Georgia named David Datuna came along and ate the pricey banana, essentially destroying the art. He called his own performance "Hungry Artist." Explaining his bizarre action, David told The Guardian, "Warhol put banana on a canvas. Cattelan takes a real banana and puts it on the wall. David took banana from the wall and ate it!"

David suggested that he's against the idea that obtaining the banana should cost someone $120,000, saying, "What I don't like, however, is that a banana costs 20 cents. I think it is a good idea to put it in a museum if it is free to watch. But when you sell it for $120,000? Then decide to make a second and third edition, and that third edition is $150,000? It is silly, and not good for our contemporary life."
