The people who were in the same plane with the recently-deceased 'Lucid Dreams' rapper describe their airport run-in with the authorities as racial profiling.

AceShowbiz - Friends of late rapper Juice WRLD have accused authorities of racially profiling the late star, after a string of suspicious run-ins with cops.

The 21-year-old "Lucid Dreams" rapper was on a plane with around 12 other people when it landed at Midway International Airport on Sunday, December 8 and was met by federal agents and city police officers, after being tipped off that a private plane travelling from Los Angeles to Midway was carrying guns and drugs.

During the search of luggage carts loaded with bags from the plane, a sniffer dog made a "positive alert," during which time the rapper, real name Jarad Anthony Higgins, started going into convulsions and was administered Narcan, after it was revealed he'd been taking opioid painkiller Percocet, in a bid to revive the star.

While Juice died the following morning, his pals spoke to TMZ, claiming authorities showed up at multiple airports and searched his private jet, leading them to suspect the chart-topping hitmaker was targeted for his race.

Juice previously got arrested in 2018 at New York's La Guardia Airport after officers responded to a call for "prohibited items" found inside one of his checked bags, reportedly including a small amount of marijuana and bottles of codeine cough syrup.

He was initially charged with misdemeanour possession of marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance - however he eventually pled to a much lesser, non-criminal offence, reported TMZ.

There was also a similar run-in at Los Angeles International Airport last month, but it remains unclear whether any contraband was seized.

His friends claimed the searches only began after the "Bandit" star signed a reported $3 million deal in 2018 with Interscope Records.
