The controversial gangland drama adapted from Rapman's YouTube series receives a nomination at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards.

AceShowbiz - Controversial film "Blue Story", which was banned from U.K. theatres after a brawl broke out at an entertainment complex screening of the movie, has been nominated for a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award.
Bosses at Vue and Showcase cinemas removed the gangland drama from their U.K. screens after the incident at the StarCity amusement and leisure centre in Birmingham, England last month.
While the movie was soon reinstated, both companies upped security at screenings in a bid to prevent similar incidents.
However, the controversy doesn't seem to have impacted the merit of the flick, as the debut by director Rapman has been shortlisted in the Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer category for next year's ceremony.
Other shortlisted films include documentary "For Sama", directed by Waad al-Kateab and Edward Watts, and Animals, written by Emma Jane Unsworth, for the award.
"For Sama" previously won the Best British Independent Film prize at the British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs) earlier this month, while "Unsworth" took home the Debut Screenwriter prize at the ceremony.
The other films in the running are "Bait", "Being Frank: The Chris Sievey Story", "The Last Tree", "Maiden", "Only You", "The Party's Just Beginning", and "Retablo".
The BAFTAs take place on February 2, 2020 at London's Royal Albert Hall.
