AceShowbiz - Amy Schumer's lawyer sent her personal trainer a joke cease and desist letter, pleading with the exercise expert to stop making the actress perform "unduly punishing physical exercise."
The 38-year-old screen star has been working hard to get back into shape following the birth of her son Gene in May. But in a post on her Instagram page on Tuesday, December 3, Amy admitted it had been tough going through workout sessions with her trainer AJ Fisher - so much so that she drafted in her lawyer to send her a legal document trying to get her to tone things down.
Alongside a screenshot of the letter Fisher received, which stated that Amy had been unable "to perform simple daily tasks like walking and picking up her child as a result of such 'exercise,' " the "I Feel Pretty" star explained on her "3 Girls, 1 Keith" podcast that the whole thing was actually an elaborate joke.
"On @3girls1keith this week I mentioned that as a joke I had my lawyer and who I love, draft a cease and desist to my trainer @ajcorectology because I thought the workouts were so hard. I jokingly threatened to do it during our workouts for months. This is it!" Amy wrote.
"I love my lawyer and I once, without his permission bought him bench ad space on his route to work. He had a good reaction to it and wasn't mad and sent this picture. AJ is an amazing trainer and is the reason I feel strong and good and have recovered from my herniated discs and c section."
She concluded, "Was this is a wasteful use of resources? Very very much so but it brought me so much joy."
