While declaring herself as a non-supporter of the monarchy, the 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' actress admits the way the British press treat Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is 'truly shameful.'

AceShowbiz - Daisy Ridley wants Britain's Queen Elizabeth II to vacate Buckingham Palace so it can be used to house others.

The "Star Wars" actress confesses she's not a supporter of the monarchy in a new interview with GQ magazine - and wants the iconic landmark to be put to use to help solve Britain's housing crisis.

"I'm going to tell you something so shocking for Americans but not Brits: I don't massively care about the royal family. I am not a royalist," she says.

"Buckingham Palace is great, but it's an unused building, isn't it?" she adds. "The other day, there was a story that the Queen uses six rooms in the palace. Six. How is that a good thing? It's prime real estate."

However, Daisy did offer support to the younger generation of royals, insisting the way that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex have been treated by the U.K. media is "truly shameful."

Meghan and Harry are currently taking legal action over the printing of a private letter from the Duchess to her estranged father Thomas, plus historic phone-hacking allegations. Meghan has also admitted it has been a "struggle" dealing with intense press scrutiny while being a new mum and getting used to her royal duties.
