Words are the 'Lighthouse' actor couldn't gain muscle in time for the Caped Crusader role, despite having been given extended time to achieve the goal.

AceShowbiz - Is Robert Pattinson going to be a skinny Batman? The British actor is reportedly having trouble bulking up for the role of the Caped Crusader, despite having spent months preparing his physique to portray the Gotham superhero in Matt Reeves' "The Batman".

According to YouTuber Grace Randolph, who has a decent track record for these kind of scoops, the 33-year-old star couldn't gain muscle in time, causing a delay of around two weeks. "I've also heard that Robert Pattinson is having a little bit of trouble bulking up," Randolph said in her recent video.

Giving her two cents on Pattinson's physique, she continued, "I think it's probably impossible for him to fully bulk up because he just has a slight build, but I think it's hilarious they are like, 'Maybe if we gave him a few more weeks, he might bulk up.' If he hasn't bulked up by now, he's not going to bulk up. Just accept you have skinny Batman and deal with it. So, I think that's funny. It's not like a huge delay. It's not a big deal. It's not a big deal, really, but it's like just a couple of weeks."

Back in October, the Edward Cullen of the "Twilight Saga" movie series revealed he was in the "very, very early" stages of bulking up for "The Batman". While he admitted that he doesn't like to exercise, he realized that he needs it to stay fit. "I didn't when I was younger, but now as I have kind of gotten older, I'm slowly getting aware of aging. So I'm kind of like, 'I got to put in some effort otherwise I'm going to get hip replacement,' " he admitted.

The actor has also been learning jiu-jitsu with instructor Rigan Machado, an 8th degree red and black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Machado previously trained Keanu Reeves for his preparation for the "John Wick" films. He has also helped get Vin Diesel, Charlie Hunnam and Ashton Kutcher into fighting shape for action film roles.

"The Batman" is slated for June 25, 2021 release in the U.S.
