The 'Think Like a Man' actress is allegedly booted from 'America's Got Talent' after serving as a judge for only one season because she spoke against 'problematic' situations on the shows.

AceShowbiz - Rumor has it, there was a lot more to the story behind Gabrielle Union's exit from "America's Got Talent". It was recently revealed that the "Think Like a Man" actress would not return to the talent show after serving as a judge for only one season despite her Golden Buzzer act, singer/pianist Kodi Lee, won the televised competition.
NBC sources told lovebscott that Union was fired for speaking against racism and sexism on the show. "She set the record for her Golden Buzzer," the sources said. "Based on weekly interactions on social media, by the time AGT finale aired Gabrielle was the #1 talent on network TV for 2019. Why not pick up someone's option in extreme success?"
It was allegedly the "problematic" situations that got Gabrielle fired from show. "They only replace the women and blacks at Simon's whim," the sources claimed, referring to the past departures of hosts Nick Cannon & Tyra Banks and judges Heidi Klum & Melanie Brown. "She [Gabrielle] wouldn't walk away from $12 million because she's 'busy.' "
According to the sources, the problems had existed for a long time. The sources stated, "Let's just say they didn't start the racism, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia etc. in season 14. They were quite comfortable with it all by the time Gabrielly got there. Remember Nick said 'NBC stands for N***a Be Careful.' "
Gabrielle Union was let go from the "AGT" along with fellow new female judge Julianne Hough while executive producer Simon Cowell is expected to return with comedian Howie Mandel as judges and Terry Crews as a host.
Back in 2017, Nick Cannon had a fallout with NBC after he joked in his stand-up special, "Y'all see me on the show (AGT). I mean sometimes I wish I could say the stuff that I want to say. … But I can't say that. I can't talk like that 'cuz that would mess up the white money. It will."
"I will not be silenced," he later wrote on Facebook as he announced his departure from the show. "I love art and entertainment too much to watch it be ruined by controlling corporations and big business." He also said, "My soul won't allow me to be in business with corporations that attempt to frown on freedom of speech, censor artists, and question cultural choices."
