Sports analyst Dan Patrick claims he learned that the Roc Nation founder pushed hard for the for workout for Colin to overturn the bad press he got when announcing his partnership with NFL.

AceShowbiz - Jay-Z's alleged involvement in getting Colin Kaepernick a workout with the NFL allegedly was the rapper's attempt to fix his damaged reputation. The hip-hop mogul took the heat when he announced his partnership with the National Football League earlier this year and he reportedly wanted to overturn the bad press.
Sports analyst Dan Patrick made the claim on his self-titled DirecTV show. "My source says Jay-Z was putting pressure on the commissioner because according to my source, Jay-Z said that he took a reputational bullet for the commissioner when they had that press conference, his new role with the NFL-the social agenda, social injustice," he said.
Patrick added, "He was going to help with the entertainment for halftime, all of this. And my source said that Jay-Z was pressuring the commissioner to do the right thing and have this workout for Colin Kaepernick and that he had taken a reputational bullet when he first took this job."
"And I understand that," he continued weighing in. "But that was what I was told with the pressure here with the commissioner-that Jay-Z said, 'Hey look, I don't want to be viewed as a sellout here!' Those are my words, not his, but he was saying a reputational bullet."
Patrick, however, appeared to backtrack on his earlier claim as he tweeted hours after the video aired, "I have been in touch with other well-placed sources who say that any Jay-Z narrative seems like another distraction to take away from the opportunity facilitated by the NFL for Colin Kaepernick."
Colin was one of those who criticized Jay-Z when the latter announced his deal with the NFL in August. The 32-year-old athlete, who has never been hired after leaving the San Francisco 49er for free agent in 2017, appeared to take aim at the Roc Nation founder for saying that NFL has "moved past kneeling."
NFL announced earlier this week that it would host a workout for Colin this Saturday, November 16 in Atlanta. ESPN's reporter Adam Schefter wrote on Twitter, "The NFL arranged this workout opportunity for Colin Kaepernick, and teams will have the opportunity to evaluate his readiness and level of interest in resuming his NFL career. His agents have said he wants to return to the NFL, and the league hopes this provides that chance."
