After the daughter of organizer Michael Eavis ruled the iconic rock group out of the festival's 2020 line-up, Simon Neil slams the band for allegedly refusing to lower their appearance fee.

AceShowbiz - Biffy Clyro frontman Simon Neil has slammed Fleetwood Mac for allegedly failing to cut their festival fee to appear at Glastonbury.

The iconic rock group haa long been a target for Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis, but he has claimed they have priced themselves out of a headline slot by not lowering their demands to adhere to the event's charitable ethos.

Michael's daughter Emily has ruled them out of 2020's 50th anniversary festival, and their absence has angered Simon.

"Look at Fleetwood Mac," he tells Britain's Daily Star newspaper. "There's not enough money for them, those cheeky b*****ds! It is such a shame isn't it? It's not in the spirit of Glastonbury, it's not about the money."

"If The Rolling Stones can do it, Kanye West did it, U2, and you're telling me Fleetwood Mac can't? F**k it, no way."

Although the band won't be playing, its rumoured frontwoman Stevie Nicks may be open to performing a solo set.

As for Simon's dream headliner, he reveals, "I would love Nick Cave to do it. He has become such an icon in the last decade and made some of his best music. That would be a wonderful moment at Glastonbury. He could really hold that crowd."

And asked if Biffy are booked, the "Many of Horror" hitmaker refused to confirm their plans adding, "That would be telling wouldn't it?"

Glastonbury 2020 gets underway at Worthy Farm in Somerset, England, on 24 June next year.
