The 'Bodak Yellow' hitmaker claims that hiding likes won't make Instagram any less negative because the problem lies in the comment section, not in the likes tab.

AceShowbiz - Cardi B became the latest star giving her opinions on Instagram hiding likes. The female rapper was skeptical of the changes made by the platform, suggesting that the company focused on the wrong thing because comment section was a lot more dangerous than the likes.

"This is just my opinion," the 27-year-old female hip hop star told her online admirers. "I mean what makes you feel more insecure getting no likes or people constantly giving opinions about you, your life and topics? What you think IG should do?"

"It's a big ruckus right now that the likes on Instagram are getting taken away," she said. "So from the beginning of Instagram, we had likes. And I feel like in the beginning of Instagram, everything was so fun, people wanted to post their pictures, get likes."

"Instagram got a little nasty and it just took a weird turn was when people started to like the comments," she continued. "When they were allowed to like comments or reply back to somebody's comments. That's when I feel like when people started sayin' nasty things."

"Somebody would just say something so vile because … they want comments back," she went on. "I see a lot of people dedicate they time into sayin' some of the craziest, most absurd s**t on comments, just for likes and comments back. And I feel like that's what's messing up Instagram and that's distracting people."

"If anything is affecting Instagram right now, I really feel it's the way the comments have been done or have been changing these past few years," she added "I feel people been saying the most weirdest s**t, been starting the craziest arguments, been starting to race bait ... because they want to get to the top, they want to get the most reactions. And that's what I feel. The comments affect more than the likes."

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced that they were test-hiding the "likes" feature for U.S. users next week. The announcement came just after Kim Kardashian, one of the most popular stars on the social media, expressed her support for the removal. She believed it could be beneficial for people's mental health.

"As far as mental health … I think taking the likes away and taking that aspect away from (Instagram) would be really beneficial for people," she said at New York Times' DealBrook Conference at the Time Warner Center. "I know the Instagram team has been having a bunch of conversations with people to get everyone's take on that and they're taking it really seriously, and that makes me happy."

Nicki Minaj, just like Cardi B, disagreed with Kim. While Cardi B argued that comment section was more dangerous, Nicki directly called out Instagram, claiming that their intention was not so good after all since hiding likes could remove some power from the users.

"Instagram is going to take everyone's likes simply because … they don't want you to go off on the side, forming all sorts of businesses and being able to say, you know, 'I get this amount of likes' and charging brands," she explained her theory.

"They want you to have to pay them," she continued. "See, if you pay them, then that's why we have all these sponsored Instagram posts and that's why we changed up not having Instagram posts in chronological order. Remember, they did that first. So they had to shuffle it real quick to let you know you ain't the boss."
