The 61-year-old also credits the movie for changing her career path as she is honored with the Woman of the Year trophy onstage at the prizegiving in Berlin, Germany.

AceShowbiz - Sharon Stone stole the show with a moving speech at the 2019 GQ Men of the Year Awards on Thursday, November 07 night.

The 61-year-old actress also teased the audience with a live recreation of the iconic sexy chair scene from her 1992 crime drama "Basic Instinct", a breakout film she credited with changing her career path as she accepted the Woman of the Year trophy onstage at the prizegiving in Berlin, Germany.

"Some years ago I was sitting on a soundstage, and my ("Basic Instinct") director (Paul Verhoeven) said, 'Can you hand me your underpants, because we're seeing them in the scene and you shouldn't have underpants on, but we won't see anything'," Sharon recalled during her speech. "And I said, 'Sure.' I didn't know this moment would change my life."

"We have every right to be powerful in whatever form of sexuality we choose to have, and no one is allowed to take that away from you," the star added. "So I want to say thank you for choosing me to be Woman of the Year, because there was a time when all I was was a joke."

Stone wasn't the only huge star to be honoured at the 2019 GQ Men of the Year Awards. "Pose" actor Billy Porter was awarded a trophy in the Style category and racing driver Lewis Hamilton walked away with the Creativity & Design honour.
