AceShowbiz - New York radio personality and rapper Angie Martinez is recovering after surviving a horrific car accident.
The DJ took to social media on Monday, November 04 to share the news with fans, revealing she will be taking an extended period of time out of the spotlight to bounce back from her multiple injuries.
"I've always believed in angels and mine was with me the other morning. I was in a severe car accident and sustained a fractured lumbar and shattered vertebrae," she wrote in the post.
"I'm recovering and will be for some time, but I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to do that."
"Wanted you all to hear it from me first and know that although this is a different time, I am in the best spirits possible and determined to be back and better than ever!"
No further details about the incident have been released, but the news emerges days after the finale of Martinez's interview series, "Untold Stories of Hip Hop", aired on U.S. TV.
The show featured Martinez sitting down with stars like DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Fat Joe, A$AP Rocky, and Ice-T to discuss previously unknown stories from their time in the hip-hop industry.
