AceShowbiz - Ian Ziering has pulled the plug on his marriage to Erin Ludwig. The "Sharknado" actor announced on Thursday, October 31 that he and his wife decided to separate after nine years of marriage, citing their busy lifestyles as the cause of the split.

"It is with a heavy heart that I tell you Erin and I are splitting up," the 55-year-old posted on Instagram along with a picture of two cherubic angels from Michelangelo's iconic Sistine Chapel fresco. "With our hectic work schedules we could not be busier, and over the last few years have grown apart."

Hinting that the split is amicable, Ian had nothing but good words for Eric. "She is one of the most incredible women I have ever met and the best mom to our kids," he added.

Addressing swirling rumors about their split, the "Beverly Hills, 90210" alum warned fans that not all the reports are true. He said, "It has come to my attention that things are being written and said to sensationalize a situation that is simply not sensational. Any quote attributed to me is completely false and solely meant by haters to undermine our intention to continue to get along, protect and raise our daughters, and be examples of successful co-parents."

"We ask that you respect our privacy at this difficult time as we focus on what is important to us, our girls," he pleaded with fans, before singing off with, "Peace and love, Ian."

Ian and Erin got engaged in February 2010 and tied the knot a few months later on May 28 of the same year in Newport Beach, California. They welcomed their first daughter, Mia Loren, on April 25, 2011, and their second daughter, Penna Mae, on April 25, 2013.

Ian was previously married to Playboy model Nikki Schieler from July 1997 until their divorce in 2002. They have no children together.
