During an interview with Apologia Studios, Adam Tyson also talks about the G.O.O.D Music founder's upcoming album 'Jesus Is King', which is now due out on October 25.

AceShowbiz - Fans were this close to not getting new music from Kanye West any longer. His pastor, Adam Tyson, recently revealed during an interview with Apologia Studios that the G.O.O.D Music founder almost gave up rapping altogether because he believed the genre would affect his faith in Christianity in a bad way.

He recalled in the interview, "One time, he told me that he wasn't going to rap. I said, 'Why not?' He said, 'Well, that's the devil's music.' I said, 'Hey, man. Rap is a genre. You can rap for God.' I think he was already thinking about it a little bit, but I just definitely said, 'Hey, bro. I think you need to use your talents that God's given to you and use that platform for God."

Kanye ultimately decided not to give up on rap, but use it as vehicle to spread his beliefs. The "Gold Digger" rapper has been holding Sunday Service where people are treated to performances by his gospel choir. In addition to that, he is currently gearing up for the release of his much-anticipated album "Jesus Is King", which is now due out on October 25, the same day as the premiere of his iMAX documentary.

Talking about the upcoming album, Adam noted that he participated in the writing process of the album to make the lyrics "more clear[ly] about the gospel." He said of Kanye, "He just wants to make sure every song points people to the gospel of Jesus Christ. From what I can tell, from listening to it multiple times, I'm really encouraged by it, especially from the first album of a new convert."

"Jesus Is King" was first expected to arrive on September 27, before his wife Kim Kardashian announced that the release date had been pushed back to September 29. However, on its supposed date, the effort wasn't released.
