The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have apologized to their social media followers over the typo in an Instagram post that quoted the inspirational Maya Angelou.

AceShowbiz - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex have issued an apology after sharing an inspirational Maya Angelou quote with a typo.

The royal pair posted the powerful words from the late poet on the photo sharing site on Wednesday, October 16 and fans were quick to point out the error.

The quote should have read: "Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women" yet it was shared as: "Each time a women stands up for herself…"

The couple's social media team promptly deleted the message and replace it with the correct phrasing.

"We post inspiring words like these so you can enjoy them, remember them, and share them - all the more reason to ensure they're accurate," the new caption for the post read. "We are reposting because of a typo in the previous quote card."

"Apologies for the hiccup, and many thanks to those of you who flagged it for us! We do hope you'll keep and share these powerful words from Maya Angelou."
