AceShowbiz - Gucci Mane is the latest celebrity to join the "I Love My Wife" trend, heaping praises for wife Keyshia Ka'oir for all the things she did for him. However, rather than melting people's hearts, his post was met with backlash as people were bothered by the fact that the rapper praised his wife for staying with him through his past infidelities, drug abuse and more.
In the post, Gucci additionally attached an image from his wedding to the beauty mogul. "Everyone want this, but what y'all forget was she was with wild Gucci, on drugs Gucci, cheating Gucci, in jail Gucci, publicity with other women Gucci," he wrote on the photo. "This is Gucci after therapy / rehabilitation. This is a street man groomed in his 30's after he's been at his lowest point."
He continued, "Point is, this is a rider who knew what she signed up for! You b****es is what the next n***a after couples fight..."
Even though Keyshia was totally happy with the sentiment, it wasn't the case with other people. One person pointed out that their romance is not "relationship goals," adding, "A woman who goes through that much pain/emotional abuse to be with a man ain't 'SOLID' ...thats 'STUPID' ...Learn the difference." Some others stressed that Keyshia "deserves better," while there were also people who believed that Gucci wouldn't do the same if he was in Keyshia's shoes.
"Black women don't need to be intimate with pain and suffering as a condition of love," someone else said, as an individual offered a lengthy response, "Women shouldn't have to suffer to have a man show them honesty, love, and respect them in a relationship. And then you repost this and women out here thinking this is what they have to do to have a man call them wife. Umm... okay Gucci."
Gucci has yet to respond to the backlash.
