Actress Jamil is shut down and called 'hypocrite' on social media by the offended Victoria's Secret model Sampaio for 'perpetuating a stereotype about models.'

AceShowbiz - Sara Sampaio has slammed Jameela Jamil after the star labelled runway models "long-starved terrified teenagers."

Jameela retweeted a video from the Colors of Africa fashion show, showing women performing a Nigerian dance while walking down the runway. Captioning her post, she wrote: "This looks like the most fun, and not a long-starved terrified teenager in sight. Beautiful."

However, the comment didn't sit well with Victoria's Secret Angel Sara, who felt that Jameela was perpetuating a stereotype about models, with the assumption that all of them starve themselves to maintain their physique.

Sharing "The Good Place" actress' tweet, the model labelled Jameela a "hypocrite," writing: "How about celebrating someone without bringing other people down?"

"Calling runway models 'long-starved terrified teenager' is extremely offensive. From someone that is always preaching for body positivity this just screams hypocrisy."

However, Jameela fired back at the message, suggesting models are "starving themselves, and using drugs and cocaine to control their weight," before adding the behaviour is prominent in wider society and "perpetuated by the extreme thinness demanded of girls by the high fashion powers that be."

"Eating disorders, drugs and cocaine use aren't a (sic) exclusive problem of models, it's a huge problem is society as a whole," Sara hit back. "It's very simple to celebrate someone without having do drag other people... they don't deserved to be constantly put in a negative box like you just did."
