The 'Aladdin' actor, who plays a fictionalized version of himself on the series, is allegedly planning to make a spin-off of the show through his newly-launched holding company Westbrook Inc.

AceShowbiz - Popular sitcom "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" may be coming back to the small screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Will Smith is planning to make a spin-off of the 1990s show through his newly-launched holding company Westbrook Inc.

The site claims that the "Aladdin" actor, who played a fictionalized version of himself on the series, still earns significant royalties from the original NBC show. The show is now licensed in 193 territories. It remains to be seen where the planned spin-off is set to pick up.

Westbrook, which Smith builds alongside wife Jada Pinkett Smith, is a new cross-platform holding company which is reportedly designed to expand the Smith family brand beyond film and TV into new media, tech and merch. Additionally, the actor has recently launched a Fresh Prince merch range.

"The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" ran for six seasons from September 10, 1990 to May 20, 1996 on NBC. It centered on a street-smart teenager from West Philadelphia, played by Will, who is sent to move in with his wealthy uncle and aunt in their Bel Air mansion after getting into a fight in his hometown. On the series, Will's lifestyle often clashes with the lifestyle of his relatives in Bel Air.

In addition to Will, the show starred James Avery, Janet Hubert-Whitten, Daphne Maxwell Reid, Alfonso Ribeiro and Karyn Parsons. Also appearing on the sitcom were Tatyana M. Ali, Joseph Marcell and Ross Bagley.

Throughout the seasons, several celebrities made cameo appearance. Among them were Boyz II Men, Donald Trump, Oprah Winfrey, Queen Latifah, Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks and Don Cheadle. Chris Rock, Stacey Dash and Hugh Hefner also once appeared in an episode.
