The 'Deadpool' star plays a billionaire who fakes his own death and awkwardly leads a group of vigilantes to take down criminals in the high octane action movie.

AceShowbiz - Ryan Reynolds goes rogue in the first trailer for Netflix's movie "6 Underground" from director Michael Bay. The "Pokemon: Detective Pikachu" star plays a billionaire who fakes his own death and forms a squad of vigilantes helping to fight injustices around the globe.

"What if I told you I know what happens when you die?" Reynolds' character narrates in the trailer. "You become a ghost. The best part of being dead is the freedom. We answer to no one."

The team consists of a CIA dark operative (Melanie Laurent), a former Delta Force sniper (Corey Hawkins), a doctor accustomed to battle conditions (Adria Arjona), a hitman with a conscience (Manuel Garcia Rulfo), a parkour expert whose moves defy gravity (Ben Hardy) and a driver whose skills make any car the ultimate escape vehicle (Dave Franco).

As with many other Bay's movies, "6 Underground" features some high octane action scenes that involve explosions and a wild car chase a la "The Fast and the Furious". Franco's character is seen navigating their car through the streets in Florence as the awkward leader (Reynolds) yells at him in panic.

"Florence is a very small town, but it's very tight and it's so historic," Bay, who previously directed "Armageddon", "Pearl Harbor", "Bad Boys" and the "Transformers" movies, tells EW about filming the upcoming film in Italy. "They've never done a car chase like this ever in the history of Florence."

Of the tricks and humor in the movie, Bay explains, "My crew would call it 'the old-school Bay.' It's like the movies I did way back when where it's got real action, it’s tough, it's funny, it's got an interesting style to the movie. The writers, [Paul] Wernick and [Rhett] Reese, who I've always wanted to work with, they've got a great sense of humor and there's a great style we created for the movie."

"6 Underground" is set to arrive on Netflix this December 13.
