Setting the record straight via Twitter, Vicky Cornell apologizes to fans who were misled by the fake news about Brad Pitt-produced 'Like a Stone', and urges Loudwire to do their research.

AceShowbiz - Chris Cornell's widow Vicky has dismissed reports Lauchlin MacDonald is to play her late husband in a biopic as "completely fabricated".

News of Lauchlin's alleged casting in Brad Pitt's movie "Like a Stone", about the tragic Soundgarden rocker, hit headlines on Thursday, September 26, - with Loudwire among the outlets to report on it.

However, Vicky took to Twitter to set the record straight about the report, writing: "This is completely fabricated @loudwire please do your research before reporting. This is a spoof IMDb page by trolls and haters who have so much time on their hands to create fake pages- a mockery. I’m sorry to the fans who were misled #fakenews #fakefans #pathetic #seekhelp."

She later suggested that the fake news may be part of a bigger attempt to harass her and her family, tweeting: "No fan of @chriscornell would do such a thing. This commitment to hurting us- fabricating documents, impersonating me, harassing our children - how deranged - over 2 yrs. On behalf of my husband who’d say much more- take your crazy + stay away from us + his memory #youneedhelp,".
