Billed as 'Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Experience', the event will be managed by Yondr to prevent any media leaks since fans in attendance will have their phones locked in pouches.

AceShowbiz - Kanye West has stumped bosses at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, Michigan by booking out the venue on Friday, September 27, for a mystery event.

The rapper, who was supposed to drop his much-anticipated new album "Jesus Is King" on Friday, has instead hastily organized a fan get together in Detroit, with theatre staff telling Rolling Stone the bash appears to be "a movie thing".

Kanye arrived in the city for a Friday morning Sunday Service gospel event at the Aretha Franklin Amphitheater, but refused to give up any details about the evening's big party.

According to the event listing on Ticketmaster, admission is free but fans attending need a ticket for what is being billed as "Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Experience".

"We just found out about it, actually," a theatre spokesperson told Rolling Stone. "We usually don't (book events on the day), but it's Kanye West (and) he can get away with anything."

The event will be managed by Yondr, the company created to make live events phone-free, and pouches will lock attendees' phones for the duration of the show to prevent any media leaks.
