AceShowbiz - The saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover," is probably something that Charlie Puth tries to tell fans through the music video for his song "Mother". Making its way out on Thursday, September 12, the fun visuals sees the singer acting as a nice, well-mannered boy in front of his girlfriend's parents. But when they are out of sight, he turns into a rebellious teenager.
In the music video, Charlie, his girlfriend and a group of friends go on a wild night out, driving around the town in a car with the license plate, "YOUTH." The group then stops by a stranger's home and breaks into it right away. They strip down to their undies and jump into the pool before getting kicked out. But the group doesn't seem to be regretting their action because they are running away while smiling widely.
At one point, they hang out at what appears to be their base camp, where they are seen smoking and casually chatting with others. And as their fun-filled has nearly come to an end, Charlie drives his girlfriend home just in time for her to jump through her window and into bed before her mom checks in on her.
"Mother" is the second single off Charlie's upcoming third album "SICK", following "I Warned Myself". Details about the effort, such as its release, have yet to revealed as of now. "SICK" will follow his sophomore album "Voicenotes" that was unveiled on May 11, 2018.
Produced entirely by himself, the album was a commercial success as it peaked at No. 4 on Billboard 200 in addition to gaining positive reviews from music critics, who felt it was an improvement from his debut album "Nine Track Mind". Furthermore, it was nominated for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical category at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.
