AceShowbiz - The Weeknd has always been known for his curly hair and full-grown beard. Thus, when he decides to ditch one of his signature features, people will be having a hard time recognizing him. And he did just that when hitting the red carpet at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival on Monday night, September 9.
Showing up to the premiere of "Uncut Gems", The Weeknd ditched his signature beard and only kept a mustache with some minor scruff on his chin. The "Starboy" singer additionally made some subtle change on his hairstyle, further making it difficult for his devotees to recognize him. As for his outfit, The Weeknd looked dapper in a dark blue suit that he teamed with a white button-down and brown shoes.
The Weeknd shared photos of himself at the event on his Twitter account, and his post soon went viral with more than 12,000 people retweeting it. "WHO THE F**K IS THAT," one exclaimed in disbelief, as another joked, "N***a went from the weekend to Monday thru Friday 4:30 pm EST." Some others, meanwhile, jokingly said that the Grammy-winning singer looks like a "drug lord" now, with one comparing him to Steve Harvey.
Not a few fans told him to fire his makeup artist for making him look unrecognizable, while one other said, "You look like Lionel Richie and Pablo Escobar had a secret love child with a surrogate who does blow 24/7." Someone else expressed her shock over his brand new look, "Holy s**t who are u & what did u do to abel." There were also some who suggested that his new album would be "fire" because he had gone as far as changing his look.
The Weeknd is currently working on his new album which is suspected to be titled "Change 6". Further details about the highly-anticipated effort, however, has yet to be revealed.
