Bob Weinstein confronted the now-disgraced filmmaker for his sexual harassment and asked him to get medical treatment for his problem in a letter he wrote two years before the news broke.

AceShowbiz - Harvey Weinstein's brother Bob Weinstein had known about his alleged sexual harassment and abuse years before it was exposed. In a letter which has just been revealed by The New York Times, Harvey's brother and business partner Bob confronted the former movie producer for what he described as many years of "misbehavior."

Times reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey publish Bob's letter in full in upcoming book "She Said: Breaking the Sexual Harassment Story That Helped Ignite a Movement". The book, to be published on Tuesday, September 10, sheds new light on the roles of several figures who enabled Harvey's behavior and covered up his misdeeds.

In the letter which he wrote two years before the scandal was made public, Bob told his brother, "You have brought shame to the family and your company through your misbehavior." He added, "Your reaction was once more to blame the victims, or to minimize the misbehavior in various ways. If you think nothing is wrong with your misbehavior so in this area then announce it to your wife and family."

Bob pled with Harvey to seek medical treatment for his behavior, which Bob mistakenly thought as a sex addiction. Bob tells Kantor and Twohey that he eventually "surrendered" in his attempts to intervene in his brother's abuse. "I got worn out," he admitted.

Harvey has been accused of sexual misconduct and abuse by numerous women, including Rose McGowan, Kate Beckinsale, Paz de la Huerta and Asia Argento. Criminal investigations into complaints from at least six women are ongoing in Los Angeles, New York City and London.

He is currently facing charges for alleged sexual assault of production assistant Mimi Haleyi in 2006 and the alleged rape of a longtime lover, who hasn't been publicly identified, in 2013. His trial is currently set for January 6, 2020.
