Speaking to devotees on his Runaway to Paradise European cruise, the Bon Jovi frontman explains why he believes it is pointless trying to follow the recent movies about Queen and Elton John.

AceShowbiz - Jon Bon Jovi has assured fans he'll torpedo any plans for a Bon Jovi movie musical because he fears films like "Rocketman" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" have cornered the market.

Speaking to devotees on his Runaway to Paradise European cruise this week (begin August 26), the "Livin' On a Prayer" star said he'd bat away any idea for a film about his group's early days, because recent movies about Queen, Elton John and The Beatles were so good, it's pointless trying to follow them.

"I loved 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and I loved 'Yesterday'," Bon Jovi said. "I thought that was another different take on the same thing. But now I think that thing is done. It's the same reason Bon Jovi never did a Broadway jukebox musical. It's been done."

"I loved the idea for 'Bohemian Rhapsody', then 'Rocketman' was different and 'Yesterday' was completely different... I'd love to see how they'd use our songs, but it's been done."

That said, he does have someone in mind who could play him on the big screen, joking, "I was thinking Angelina Jolie could play me."
