However, several people turned his kindness into a bit of a joke, poking fun at the backlash that he received over his past infidelity. "He said maybe if I buy everyone a sandwich they'll stop roasting me, lol," one joked. "

Popeyes recently caused an online raucous that turned into wild in-person demand for its new spicy chicken sandwich. The hype for the new menu apparently was so intense that it's now sold out in just two weeks since its nationwide debut on August 12. Announcing the news on Tuesday, August 27 through a statement, the company promised to bring back the new menu soon.

"We, along with our suppliers, are working tirelessly to bring the new sandwich back to guests as soon as possible," the statement read, adding that those who want to be notified when they return to stores should download the Popeyes app and "sign up for push notifications."
