The Canadian businessman and reality TV star admits he was a passenger on a small vessel involved in the accident and that his wife Linda was driving the boat at the time of accident.

AceShowbiz - "Shark Tank" star Kevin O'Leary has released a statement after it's reported that he was possibly involved in a boat crash that killed a man. The reality TV star confirms that he was indeed on board the small boat, which rammed into a larger boat on Saturday night, August 24.

"Late Saturday night I was a passenger in a boat that had a tragic collision with another craft that had no navigation lights on and then fled the scene of the accident," he tells TMZ. "I am fully cooperating with authorities."

The 65-year-old adds, "Out of respect for the families who have lost loved ones and to fully support the ongoing investigation, I feel it is inappropriate to make further comments at this time. My thoughts are with all the families affected."

Kevin's rep also reveals that Kevin's wife Linda was driving the boat at the time of the crash. She was administered a DUI test that night and passed. He also confirms that another female passenger was injured in the accident. She went to the hospital, received stitches and left.

Echoing Kevin's statement, the rep stresses that it was the other boat that fled the scene. It was previously reported that Kevin's boat immediately left the scene, but was towed to marina on Monday by a salvage boat with police onboard, who've seized it for forensic testing.

The accident happened on late Saturday around 11:30 P.M. on Lake Joseph in Ontario, Canada. The small vessel owned by the Canadian businessman reportedly rammed into the larger boat, sending the smaller boat over its bow, fatally striking a male passenger in the head and killing him instantly.

TMZ earlier reported that a 48-year-old Canadian woman was injured in the crash and was on a ventilator with significant brain damage. Kevin initially refused to comment on the incident, reasoning that he's following police protocol.

It's not clear how the condition of the 48-year-old injured woman is or if it's the same person whom Kevin said received stitches, but has left the hospital.
