AceShowbiz - Jesy Nelson's boyfriend Chris Hughes has angrily defended her against an internet troll who called her "the ugly one" from Little Mix.
Chris, who rose to fame on U.K. reality TV show "Love Island" before falling for the "Wings" hitmaker, posted a loved-up couples snap on Instagram on Monday (August 26), revealing he and Jesy had gone to the cinema just to buy sweets rather than watch a film.
A troll replied to the post by commenting "I would rather pay cinema prices than be led next to that. Sooooo much make-up but she was always the ugly one."
The nasty reply sent the 26-year-old into a rage, as he rushed to defend his girlfriend on his Instagram Stories page.
Posting a screengrab of the comment, he wrote "what a ****" before calling some of the comments Jesy receives from his followers "sickening".
"Find it so strange that grown women enjoy insulting young girls they don't even know... honestly," Chris fumed. "Some of the people that follow me and give my girlfriend abuse is actually sickening. Your lives must be so miserable, that you can only feel for them."
The 28-year-old singer has been open about her struggles with body image and self-esteem issues ever since the group got together on "The X Factor" U.K. in 2011, and is filming a BBC documentary about body image and mental health in the age of social media.
In her post on Instagram earlier this summer, Jesy wrote that filming the documentary had been an "emotional rollercoaster" as it meant telling her "personal story on mental health issues and online bullying".
