In the photo that Wendy shared on her Instagram account, "The Wendy Williams Show" host and "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star were both rocking blonde locks while having fun in New York City, and that prompted fans to think that it might be nice to see them together on a show.
The August 25 post featured the 55-year-old daytime talk show host and the Bravo personality sitting at a table with a plate of sushi in front of them. It seemed like they truly had the best time of their lives during the reunion as NeNe was featured clinging onto Wendy while laughing happily.
"Why is REAL life soo funny?! Renewed girls are the best time!" Wendy wrote in the caption.
Fans in the comment section were all excited seeing them reunited after so long. "Legit tears right now. Y'all don't know HOW long I've been waiting for THIS reunion! September can't get here fast enough!" one fan gushed. "so happy you're living your best life Wendy," another fan said.
Upon seeing them getting along so well, fans thought that Wendy needed to head to "RHOA". "Now join RHOA! Already got your tagline!" one excited fan urged. "Ya two together need a show!!! Or she should be a permanent fixture on ur show In some capacity. I'm here for it. Who else?" another fan echoed the sentiment.
The Housewives franchise was previously rumored to be eyeing Wendy as producers of "The Real Housewives of New York City" allegedly planned hoped to get Wendy in an upcoming season. A source said that the show's host and executive producer Andy Cohen "wants Wendy and is doing whatever it takes to get her to sign up, even if only for one season."
The source added, "The franchise is looking for some stunt casting to make the show fresh and exciting. Post-split from her longtime husband, Wendy is the hottest lady in NYC." The insider continued, "Andy is begging Wendy to just think about joining the show for one season. Having celebrities join the cast of 'RHOBH' has made that franchise a huge hit, now producers want to do the same with NYC."
Another reason why they were so eager to add the author to the cast members was reportedly because they wanted a black women to lead the show. "How much longer can a show set in New York have no black women as one of its lead characters," the source wondered.
