The British actor said that he would not be 'giving up my ticket in the MCU' when asked if Tom Hardy's 'Venom' would tie in with his Spider-Man movies.

AceShowbiz - Tom Holland has not spoken up amid Sony-Marvel standoff that puts the future of his character Spider-Man in the MCU in jeopardy. However, based on his statement in the past, it's obvious where his loyalty stands should he have to choose.

A fan on reddit shared an old interview conducted in 2017 during which he showed his loyalty to the MCU. During the press tour for "Spider-Man: Homecoming", the British actor was asked if it's true that Tom Hardy-starring "Venom" would not tie in with his Spider-Man films.

The "Spider-Man: Far From Home" actor, who has also joined the "Avengers" movie with "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame", said at the time, "Sadly, I think that is true. From my understanding, I think that is the case. I'd love to make a movie with Tom Hardy."

Making it clear that he would prefer team up with the Avengers, he added, "If we ever got the chance to make a Venom movie together, that would be super-cool, but his movie would have to take place in the MCU because I'm not giving up my ticket in the MCU."

Some fans left comments on the post. "This is actually aging well. He's respectful of the Sony properties, but he also lets you know where he stands on this," one pointed out. Another added, "Whatever happens, let's remember Tom, who loves not just being Spidey but being part of the MCU."

It's not clear how Sony would continue the "Spider-Man" live-action film franchise without Kevin Feige as the head producer anymore, but the studio has promised that "we will continue" the Spider-Man journey on-screen.

While Holland has not expressed his feelings regarding the broken deal, his father Dominic Holland has joined a Twitter campaign asking to save Spider-Man with the hashtag #SaveSpiderMan. He also included a link to a blog post in which he said, "To conclude, I know nothing about the impasse between Sony and Marvel."

The comedian added, "I have no inside track on such issues. But whatever is decided by the big suits at these big Hollywood studios -- my hunch is that the show will continue. Too much at stake and too many dollars riding on it -- and besides, everyone wants the same thing; namely, Spider-Man on large screens keeping people safe and entertained. And with Tom in the suit, for the time being at least."

Holland's "Avengers" co-star Jeremy Renner is even more vocal, pleading with Sony to let Spider-Man rejoin the MCU. "Hey @sonypictures we want Spider-Man back to @therealstanlee and @marvel please, thank you," he wrote on Instagram, tagging other MCU stars including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Zoe Saldana.
