AceShowbiz - Eva Marcille has just made a big decision regarding her daughter Marley Rae, whom she shares with her singer ex Kevin McCall. In a recent interview, "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star revealed that she had changed Marley's last name to Sterling amid the distant relationship with Kevin.
Explaining her decision, Eva said of her 5-year-old daughter on "Rickey Smiley Morning Show", "Marley was born in 2014 and I gave her her biological father's name." She continued, "After two months, we became estranged and I raised her as a single mom."
"And then, the good Lord saw fit for me to meet an amazing man, Michael Sterling, who has become my husband and the father of my later children. Long story short, we all have the name Sterling, and Marley is the only one with her biological father's name and I saw it necessary and Mike saw it necessary to change her name," she shared.
The Bravo personality added that they'd been going through the process which was "not an easy process and it is not for the faint of heart." However, she added, "But we've been working through it and [as of] yesterday I can say thanks to the honorable Judge Manning here in Fulton County court granted me a name change for Marley. She is now officially and legally Marley Rae Sterling."
Eva previously gushed over her husband Michael in a lengthy Instagram post in honor of Fathers Day. "you are hands down the definition of an amazing father," she raved in the post. "From your dedication to our children, to your consistency and dependability which is unwavering. From staying up late to comfort our youngest Mikey to your early mornings getting them to school every morning."
"To Saturday tennis with Marley to watching the game with Mikey.... to spending priceless quality time creating an unbreakable bond. What you do for our children and our family it's quite beautiful. I thank you for loving, providing, protecting and always prioritizing us. I love you to the moon and back and I wish you the happiest Fathers Day yet!" she concluded the message.
