The 'Born to Die' singer makes the announcement just days after sharing a clip of herself performing the song she wrote in response to the August massacres in Ohio, Texas and California.

AceShowbiz - Lana Del Rey is donating the proceeds from her latest single, "Looking for America", to the recovery efforts following America's latest mass shootings.

Like so many Americans, the singer was left jarred by the August massacres in Ohio, Texas and California, which cost 35 people their lives, and now she's digging deep to help the survivors and the families of the slain.

"Thinking of everyone this morning," she tweeted on Friday (August 09). "we finished our song and just want to let you know all of my proceeds are going to Gilroy Garlic Festival Victims Relief Fund, El Paso Community Relief Fund and Dayton Foundation."

Del Rey, who wrote the new track in response to this month's mass shootings, has also shared a clip of herself performing the song, explaining why she wrote it.

"I'm not a politician and I'm not trying to be, so excuse me for having an opinion," she says, "(but the shootings) really affected me on a cellular level."
