AceShowbiz - Singer/songwriter Mike Posner's plans to walk across America have taken a detour after an encounter with a rattlesnake.
The "I Took a Pill in Ibiza" hitmaker set off on the epic journey from New Jersey in April, and just after reaching the halfway point earlier this week (begin August 5), he was bitten by a snake in Colorado and had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital.
The incident happened on Wednesday and Mike tells TMZ, "That venom is no joke!"
He posted a shot of his swollen ankle online, revealing medics pumped him full of anti-venom just in time.
The snake encounter has stalled his walk across America for a while, as medics have told Posner he won't be able to continue the trek - inspired by the deaths of his father and pal Avicii - for a few weeks.
The marathon walk will end in Venice, California.
