Having been in charge of Prince Michael Jackson's welfare since 2012, TJ Jackson is given full legal and physical custody of his cousin until he turns 18 in February 2020.

AceShowbiz - Michael Jackson's nephew has been handed guardianship of the late pop star's youngest son until he turns 18 in February (2020).

TJ Jackson, who has shared guardianship of Prince Michael Jackson - aka Blanket - since 2012, has been granted an extension, which will leave him in charge of his cousin's welfare for the rest of his childhood.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, TJ filed updated Letters of Guardianship documents earlier this week (begin August 5).

The agreement automatically ends when Blanket turns 18, "is adopted, marries, becomes emancipated by a court order, enters into active military duty, or dies".

TJ has also been given "full legal and physical custody" of his cousin. He previously shared guardianship with the boys' grandmother, Katherine Jackson, who stated that none of her son Michael's kids had a "relationship with their biological mother", when she first filed for custody of Blanket and his siblings Paris Jackson and Prince Jackson.

Katherine resigned her position as guardian to Blanket in 2012.

The teenager was seven when his father died in 2009.
