In addition to the starring role, the 'Wonder Woman' star will serve as executive producer alongside 'The Affair' co-creator Sarah Treem and 'The Handmaid's Tale' producer Warren Littlefield.

AceShowbiz - Wonder Woman Gal Gadot will play actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr in a new limited series.

Gal has signed off on the television show and she will team up "The Affair" co-creator/executive producer Sarah Treem, as well as "The Handmaid's Tale" producer Warren Littlefield to bring her fellow Israeli star's story to the small screen.

"The life of Hedy Lamarr was a truly fascinating one. She stood at the forefront of many issues that challenge women and our society today," Showtime network President of Entertainment Jana Winograde announced in a statement to Deadline on Friday (August 02). "In Gal Gadot, we have found the transcendent actress to portray the deeply complex Lamarr."

Gal will also executive produce the project about the woman whose inventions paved the way for WiFi and GPS. Her acting career spanned over 20 years and featured classics like "Samson & Delilah", "The Strange Woman", and "My Favorite Spy".
