Judge Harry Leinenweber has issued a transfer order just a little over a week after the 'I Believe I Can Fly' hitmaker was arrested on federal indictments in Chicago.

AceShowbiz - The latest R. Kelly courtroom drama is heading to New York.

Judge Harry Leinenweber issued a transfer order on Thursday (July 18), which will allow federal prosecutors to take the R&B star's sexual assault case from his native Chicago, Illinois to the Big Apple.

Kelly was arrested on 11 July on federal indictments in Chicago and New York. He has been held in a Chicago jail without bail ever since.

Prosecutors claim the singer had sex with underage girls and filmed himself in the act.

Meanwhile, one of Kelly's former employees, Milton Brown, pleaded not guilty to a federal charge of conspiracy to receive child pornography in court on Friday (July 19).

Kelly's arraignment on racketeering and conspiracy charges is scheduled for next month (August 2019).
