The Minnesota congresswoman calls the support she's received from celebrities, including the 'Bodak Yellow' hitmaker, 'amazing' as she admits that she fears for the safety of those who share her 'identity.'

AceShowbiz - Cardi B hasn't been shy about her political views lately and she most recently weighed in on President Donald Trump's attack on U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar. Showing her support for the Minnesota congresswoman, the Bronx femcee posted a foul-mouthed message on her Instagram page on Wednesday, July 17.

The "I Like It" rapper borrowed the lyrics from Beyonce Knowles' 2016 song "Formation" and wrote, "You know you that b***h when you cause all this conversation," along with a photo of Omar flashing a smile.

Omar is one of four female WOC congresswomen now known as "The Squad" alongside Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressly and Rashia Tlaib, who are all American citizens. The 36-year-old politician was born in Somalia, but her family fled to America in 1992 due to war in their homeland.

During his MAGA rally in Greeneville, North Caroline, Trump doubled down his attack on the four congresswomen, saying, "I have a suggestion for the hate-filled extremists who are constantly trying to tear our country down. Let 'em leave... they're always telling us how to run it, how to do this, how to do that. You know what? If they don't love it, tell 'em to leave it." The crowd then responded to the president's speech by chanting, "Send her back!"

Cardi isn't the only celebrity who has defended Omar. "The Lion King (2019)" director and "Spider-Man: Far From Home" star Jon Favreau tweeted, "The crowd at Trump's rally chanting 'send her back' after the President viciously and dishonestly attacked Ilhan Omar is one of the most chilling and horrifying things I've ever seen in politics."

Met by TMZ on Thursday, Omar said she doesn't fear for her safety despite Trump's attack, but she's concerned for "people who share my identity." She explained, "When you have a president who clearly thinks someone like me should go back, the message that he's sending is not just for me... it's to every single person who shares an identity with me. He's telling them that this is not their country."

Countering Trump's message, Omar said that the message she's sending during her own campaign was that America is their country. "And they are welcome here," she continued. "We don't just welcome refugees, we send them to Washington."

She seemed to be grateful for the support she has received from celebrities like Cardi, saying, "It's really amazing to see what that message means for everyone who is listening and paying attention."
