Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, the fifth annual celebration of young volunteers will also feature appearances by Mahershala Ali, Chance the Rapper, Natalie Portman and Hailee Steinfeld.

AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez and Joe Jonas are to celebrate America's young volunteers as part of a TV special, which airs in August.

The fifth annual WE Day Special, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, will feature segments from the WE Day California event, which was staged in Inglewood in April.

Mahershala Ali, Chance the Rapper, Natalie Portman, and Hailee Steinfeld are also appearing in the TV special on August 9.

"I am so inspired by the people who are celebrated in this year's show for making an impact in their communities and beyond," host Harris says. "As a dad of two young children, I want my kids to grow up in a kinder, more compassionate world, and people like them are making that possible.

"The WE organisation empowers each of us to make a positive difference, teaching us compassion, inclusion, and to be proud of what makes us each unique. I'm proud to have played a small part in that movement."
