AceShowbiz - Lil Nas X receives mixed reactions after he previously made headlines for coming out as gay. While many fans are being supportive for the "Old Town Road" hitmaker's courageous decision, some others are throwing hate on him. And now, Young Thug is weighing in on the matter.
During a recent sit down with No Jumper, Young Thug revealed that he thought the young star should have held off on revealing his sexual orientation. "I feel like he probably shouldn't have told the world," he said.
The reason, however, was not entirely vile. "[It's] because these days--motherf***ers is just all judgement," he explained. "It ain't even about the music no more. Soon as the song comes on everybody's like 'this gay a** n***a.' "
Lis Nas X came out at the end of Pride month through a cryptic "some of y'all already know, some of y'all don't care, some of y'all not gone fwm no more. but before this month ends i want y'all to listen closely to c7osure," he tweeted along with a music video for "C7osure (You Like)" as he asked people to listen to his new track. He also added a rainbow emoji.
Despite the backlash, the 20-year-old chart-topping musician refused to get angry at haters. "I'm not angry... because I understand how they want that reaction," Lil Nas, real name Montero Lamar Hill, told BBC Breakfast. "So I'm just going to joke back with them."
Revealing why he had decided to come out so soon after finding fame, the hip-hop star added, "I don't want to live my entire life... not doing what I want to do." He also said he hoped he was "opening doors" for others and that his fans would "feel comfortable" discussing homosexuality, as it was "not really accepted in either the country (or) hip-hop communities."
Back to Young Thug's interview, "The London" rapper went on talking about how he believe that Juice WRLD was a new iteration of Lil Wayne. "He probably like that...2006-2009 Lil Wayne. Cause this n***a really can freestyle. Like, he really don't write," he said of the "Lucid Dream" star. "If you give him a subject, he'll go rap right now. And he's going to have metaphors. He's going to have punchlines [...] You can't compete with him, he knows too much."
