AceShowbiz - Ashley Martson is seemingly not proud with her past decision of marrying "90 Day Fiance" co-star and estranged husband Jay Smith. In response to a fan question during an Instagram Q&A on Saturday, July 13, the 33-year-old explained why she married Jay after meeting him in season 6.
One of the questions during her Q&A session saw a fan asking her why she took "a chance on a 20 yr old boy??" Replying to that, Ashley said, "Because I'm a dummy." She later said to another fan Jay had been just 19 when they'd met, "however I was told he was 26 for the first 6 months."
Meanwhile, in a recent episode of "90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?", fans were given an explanation of why she reunited with Jay after she filed for divorce from him in January, though the reconciliation didn't last long.
In the episode, Ashley was seen being moved after Jay paid her a visit after she was hospitalized due to complications from lupus. On January 12, she shared a disturbing photo of her lying on a hospital bed with various medical equipment being connected to her.
"I'm sorry if this photo offends anyone but I will not hide that I'm sick," the TLC star explained at the time. "If I can help one person with lupus then posting this is worth it. I was found unresponsive this morning at my home. The Ambulance took me to the hospital where it was found that I am in acute kidney failure due to lupus. I will begin dialysis shortly."
Her medical scare happened only days after she found out that Jay cheated on her, prompting her to file for divorce. Despite all that, the Jamaica native went to Ashley and spent a week by her side in the hospital.
"Things with Jay and I weren't good. The last time I saw him, I had just kicked him out," Ashley said in the Sunday, July 14 episode of "90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?". "It's kind of surprising to see him walk through the door at the hospital. I was still really mad at Jay, but still somewhat happy to see him and happy not to be alone."
Jay, meanwhile, added, "Knowing me and the person that I am, I cannot have her in the hospital by herself and I'm not there. So I flew right back to her." Additionally, he told Ashley that he wanted to help her as much as he could.
Even though Ashley warned him that her accepting him now "doesn't mean things are fixed though," she did go to her lawyer to call off the divorce a few days later. "Jay is still here because, I guess, I'm not well and he's here helping me and it feels good right now to have him here," she said.
Their reunion didn't happen for too long, unfortunately. Ashley filed for divorce from Jay again in April. Now, Jay is on the verge of being deported as previous report suggested that he's in ICE custody.
Prior to the July 14, Ashley insinuated on her Instagram update that she wasn't able to make a proper decision due to her being administed IV Dilaudid for 8 days straight. "It clearly affected the frontal love of my brain. The party of the brain that you think and make choices with... [that's] all! Have a great rest of your weekend!" she explained.
