In the latest episode of 'Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta', the 21-year-old star also says that parents are not letting their children hang out with her due to the scandal surrounding her singer father.

AceShowbiz - The never-ending scandal surrounding R. Kelly has taken its toll on his daughter, Buku Abi. In the latest episode of "Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta", the eldest child of the singer opened up about the impact of the drama that made her almost try to take her own life.

Finding it hard to deal with "everything in the media with my father," Buku revealed that she received a torrent of abuse in light of the accusations made against Kelly. "People are constantly like, 'How do you feel about the scandals?' I don't give a f**k about the scandals. I have an issue with my father," she said in the episode, saying that she also had to drop out of school because of that.

"I had to drop out of school. I've had parents not let their children hang out with me," she continued. "I spend a lot of days, or nights, crying. But, like, damn. I'm sad, and I have the right to be sad." When asked how the online abuse that she received had affected her, Buku replied, "To the point where I almost tried to take my life. Like, that is heavy s**t. And then to turn around and be like, 'Oh, you should not feel that way. You're selfish for feeling that way.' It's just, like, y'all are really heartless."

Buku isn't the only one who is having a hard time. Kelly's ex-wife, Drea Kelly, opened up about how hard it is as a mother to protect her children from the scandal and its impact. "You want to protect your children from the scandal, from the headline, from the paparazzi and just from trolls and hating people. But it's even harder when you can't protect them from the world and you can't protect them from the pain that comes with having the father that they have."

Kelly was recently arrested by NYPD detectives and Department of Homeland Security agents in Chicago on federal sex crime charges. The charges are part of a 13-count indictment from the Northern District of Illinois. The indictment includes charges of child porn and obstruction of justice. The 52-year-old was allegedly receiving and manufacturing child pornography.

He is expected to be brought to New York soon.
