Not all are into the idea of turning Peter Parker, who is known for his heterosexual relationships with Gwen Stacy and MJ in the comics, into a gay despite their support for the LGBTQ community.

AceShowbiz - With the growing representation of the LGBTQ community in Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tom Holland recently talked about the possibility of Spider-Man being a gay. The actor, who portrays the character in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and its sequel "Spider-Man: Far From Home", said he's open for it.

"The world isn't as simple as a straight white guy. It doesn't end there, and these films need to represent more than one type of person", the British actor told the Sunday Times. While noting that he couldn't really talk about the future of his character, he added, "But I do know a lot about the future of Marvel, and they are going to be representing lots of different people in the next few years."

While many are celebrating this kind of inclusivity in various forms of media, not all fans of the Marvel superhero are into the idea of turning Peter Parker into a gay in the name of LGBTQ representation. They took to Twitter to share their opinions on the matter and suggest that there should be new characters that represent diversity instead of changing the identity of an already existing one.

"Thats cool and all but id much prefer a already established Lgbtq character to get some screen time. Or create new characters who you can make any ethnicity or sexual orientation," one responded to Holland's statement.

Another similarly reacted, "I agree make new characters new Disney princesses new super heroes to feed that demographic why do we need to change existing characters to do that? What's next Peter Parker gay cross dresser by day spiderman in rainbow colors by night?" Another added, "Um how bout no Tom. Feige is bringing on some LGBTQ characters in the future. Spidey should stay the way he is, ok!"

Some others had stronger responses which read, "JUST STOP!!!!!! Spiderman had several girlfriends throughout his comic book history!!! If you want a 'gay' spider powered superhero WRITE ONE AND GIVE HIM A NAME!!!!! But 'Spiderman' is already taken," and, "Gay Spiderman? Someone put the Micheal Scott meme where he says NO! GOD DAMMIT PLEASE NO! NNNNNOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!"

Another quipped, "While we are at it, can we make Wolverine a girl and Collossus French? Then just a couple of story line changes too; I really think Jean Gray should date Galactus and Cyclops should hook up with Mr Sinister. Make it happen MCU."

Another pointed out what Stan Lee once said about the issue. Quoting the legendary comic book creator's interview in the past, the said fan wrote, "Stop it. If yall made Spiderman gay Stan Lee would be turning in his grave."

Satisfied that Peter Parker in movie is heterosexual like in the comics, Lee said at the time, "I think the world has a place for gay superheroes, certainly. But again, I don't see any reason to change the sexual proclivities of a character once they've already been established. I have no problem with creating new, homosexual superheroes."
